Odile Renaud-Basso is the seventh President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), first elected in 2020 and re-elected in 2024. She is the first woman to lead a multilateral development bank. Prior to joining the EBRD, she served as Director General of the French Treasury, overseeing France’s economic policy across European and international financial affairs, trade policy, financial regulation and debt management. She also held senior roles, including Vice-President of the European Economic and Financial Committee, deputy to the G7 and G20, Chair of the Paris Club, and French Governor or Alternate Governor at the World Bank, EBRD and African Development Bank. Previously, she has served as Deputy Director-General at Caisse des Dépôts, a large French public financial institution. She is a graduate of Sciences Po and Ecole Nationale d’Administration.
