Carla Carriveau is a senior executive and policy leader with extensive experience shaping oversight frameworks for emerging technology and financial innovation. She currently serves as the Head of the Office of International Affairs and Senior Adviser to the Acting Superintendent with New York State’s Department of Financial Services. Prior to her current role, she led critical work as the head of the Virtual Currency Unit as well as the Innovation Policy Unit. She also had the distinct honor of representing DFS in its inaugural Transatlantic Regulatory Exchange program with the Bank of England, contributing to cross-jurisdictional dialogue on digital assets. Previously, Carla was the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel for several high-growth fintech and digital asset companies. Earlier in her career, she held senior leadership roles at the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, including as a top government affairs aide to then-Chair Mary Jo White. During her tenure with the SEC, she led teams advancing policy, rulemakings, and market oversight.
