Leon Butler was appointed Chief Executive, IBM UK and Ireland, in January
2025, and is responsible for technology sales, business operations and employee engagement.
Butler has deep technology industry expertise, gained from a 25-year career in the global IT sector. He has led sales teams and managed key client relationships for both IBM and Oracle at market, regional and global level.
His immediate prior role was IBM Vice President, responsible for data and AI sales worldwide. Helping clients with business and digital transformation, he was responsible for multi-billion dollar sales.
Butler spent four years in senior roles at Oracle, including Vice President for sales in Europe, and headed its UKI public sector business.
Butler joined IBM after University in 2000 on the graduate Foundation programme. His later qualifications include an MBA from Warwick Business School.
