Lim Say Cheong serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Saudi Venture Capital Investment Company, a Sharia-compliant capital market firm licensed by the Capital Markets Authority of Saudi Arabia (KSA). He is responsible for the overall success of the company and for leading the development and execution of its long-term strategies aimed at enhancing shareholder value. Lim is responsible for all aspects of business activities, including advisory services, arranging, investment and distribution.
Under Lim's effective leadership, the Saudi Venture Capital Investment Company received the prestigious title of Best Islamic Funds in Saudi Arabia in 2024, along with the award for Best Advisory Firm for Islamic Wealth Management Solutions in Saudi Arabia in 2025 from the Cambridge Islamic Funds Award held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Previously, Lim held the position of CEO at Lootah Global Capital (LGC), a financial services firm wholly owned by Lootah Holding and licensed by the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). He also served as Global Head of Islamic Business Development at Nomura Islamic Asset Management Malaysia, where he focused on the growth of Sharia-compliant assets under management for the Nomura Asset Management Group on a global scale.
With more than 17 years of experience in the United Arab Emirates and Saudi Arabia, Lim began his career at Noor Islamic Bank as the Executive Director for Global Markets. He later became Executive Vice President and Head of Investment Banking at Al Hilal Bank, where he spearheaded the development and expansion of capital markets, asset management, and wealth management services. During his tenure, the Al Hilal GCC Equity Fund received accolades as the Best Islamic Fund in both 2013 and 2014.
Lim graduated with an Executive MBA from INSEAD Business School in France. He also holds a Diploma in Islamic Finance from the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) in the UK and a Bachelor of Science degree with double majors in Mathematics and Quantitative Economics from the University of Sydney in Australia. In 2001, Lim was awarded the Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) designation, recognised as the gold standard for financial planning by the CFP Board in the USA. He has attended the Executive Leadership Programme at both The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and Oxford University. He has also earned a Financial Engineering qualification from Columbia University in New York City.
