I lead the development and implementation of ethical AI practices and strategies across the Group. My teams collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate responsible AI principles and practices into the bank's AI initiatives, oversee compliance with AI governance frameworks, incl the EU AI Act.

I also lead the bank's AI strategy, focusing on leveraging AI technologies to drive innovation and improve customer experiences. My Strategy teams work closely with product teams and Business Unit strategy teams, to identify opportunities for AI to create value. Our strategy is underpinned by Responsible AI.

Previously as Group Head of Data & AI Ethics, at Lloyds Banking Group I co-chaired the bank’s Data & AI Ethics Board and created bank-wide governance for AI ethics, extending and deepening the bank’s development practices with AI guardrails.

Previously, I was the European AI Ethics research lead at a large Fintech company and helped shape AI policy and regulations through European-wide forums.

I have been a Senior IT Director and Global Programme Manager within financial services with +24 years’ experience in leading and managing multi-year IT programs with a £25mio annual budget.

I have a PhD in AI and taught AI at Manchester University.
