Euan is a Director within the Digital Markets Unit at the UK Competition and Markets Authority, where he is responsible for leading work to prepare for the new pro-competition regime for digital markets. He is an experienced UK Senior Civil Servant who has worked around the world on economic analysis, programming and policy, including through postings to the Democratic Republic of Congo and Pakistan.
Prior to joining the CMA he was head of the Digital Trade Team in DCMS. He led teams negotiating digital trade chapters in Free Trade Agreements with the likes of Japan, Singapore, and Australia, and at the World Trade Organisation, and initiated the Electronic Trade Documents Act to support the digitisation of trade facilitation.
