Chris Hall is co-founder and editor of ESG Investor, a UK-based publication launched in 2020 to help asset owners globally to develop and implement sustainable investment strategies.

Chris has many years’ experience as a reporter, editor and freelance writer covering the wholesale financial markets, from securities trading to asset management to corporate treasury. As a freelance from 2014, Chris combined commissions from a range of leading B2B finance sector titles with regular corporate copywriting engagements from major financial institutions, market infrastructure operators and technology providers. Projects include editorship of Sibos Issues (for SWIFT), interim editorship Global Custodian, and authorship of white papers and articles on ESG investments, investment in Asia for the US HNW market, infrastructure investment, impact of disruptive digital technologies, private equity, collateral management, repo markets, payments and corporate treasury.

Before this, he was managing editor of The Trade for eight years, overseeing a suite of publications serving the trading desks of asset managers globally. He was previously the editor of Automated Trader, a quarterly journal focused on the use of automated and algorithmic trading techniques in the financial markets. Chris has extensive experience in journalism, research and PR and has written and contributed to a number of books on finance industry issues.
